Early Literacy

Early literacy is what children know about communication, language—verbal and non-verbal—reading and writing before they can actually read and write.

Participate and Explore Oceans of Possibilities: 

  1. Go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org to register for the Preschool, School-Age or Teen Summer Reading Adventure 2022. (Need to create a Beanstack account? Create one on the Beanstack website or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker App. See our Beanstack sign-up instructions.)  
  2. Explore a variety of activities, choose ten (or more!) activities to complete and collect virtual badges.
  3. Once you have earned ten badges, visit your neighborhood library branch and receive prizes for finishing the program!
