Fairfax Bar Association — Lawyer Referral Service
Will help determine whether or not your issue is a legal matter or would be best resolved with the assistance of other agencies, and will provide a referral to an appropriate and qualified attorney in Fairfax County who can address your specific legal needs. The referred attorney will provide a 30 minute consultation for a $40 fee.

Legal Aid Justice Center
The Legal Aid Justice Center has been providing legal representation for low-income individuals in Virginia since 1967. LAJC provides free legal services on noncriminal matters to income eligible persons in their service areas, including the cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, Herndon and Alexandria and counties of Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William and Stafford in Northern Virginia. Information is available in various languages.

Legal Services of Northern Virginia — What We Do
A nonprofit law firm providing free, civil legal services to low-income residents, older adults and people with disabilities who reside in Northern Virginia and would otherwise be unable to obtain private legal services. Information is available in many languages.
A free website that offers legal self-help information in the civil law areas that lower- and middle-income Virginians most often confront. It also provides referrals to legal aid programs, lawyer referral services, court services and other relevant information. The site is a Virginia Partnership for Equal Justice Website Project. Information is available in Spanish.

Virginia State Bar — Public Resources & Services

Attorney Records Search
Information about attorneys licensed in Virginia who have been publicly disciplined for violations of ethics rules, attorneys who are “not in good standing” and not eligible to practice law in Virginia due to a suspended or revoked license, and attorneys who are practicing without malpractice insurance.

Virginia Free Legal Answers
Online pro bono service run by the Virgina State Bar. Low income Virginians can post questions about non-criminal legal matters and have their questions answered by Virginia lawyers. Free Legal Answers is a multi-state project of the American Bar Association.

Virginia Lawyer Referral Service
The VLRS will connect you to a lawyer in your area for $35. You receive a consultation of up to a half hour with him or her — no strings attached.
