  • Code of Federal Regulations
    The codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the departments and agencies of the federal government.
  • Compilation of Presidential Documents
    Proclamations, executive orders and other materials released by the White House.
  • Congress.gov
    The official website for U.S. federal legislative information. The site provides access to accurate, timely, and complete legislative information for Members of Congress, legislative agencies, and the public.
  • Federal Register
    The official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. The current and historical issues are available back to 1936.
  • Federal Rules of Evidence
    For civil and criminal trials in federal courts, these are the laws governing the admission of evidence.
  • Regulations.gov
    "Your voice in federal decision-making." Read newly proposed regulations, post comments on proposed regulations, search for proposed and final rules, sign up for e-mail alerts about a particular regulation and more.
  • United States Code
    The codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States. It is divided by broad subjects into 50 titles and published by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives.
  • United States Statutes at Large
    Typically referred to as the Statutes at Large, it is the permanent collection of all laws and resolutions enacted during each session of Congress. The Statutes at Large is prepared and published by the Office of the Federal Register (OFR), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

  • Code of Virginia
    The Code of Virginia contains the general and permanent laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia that have been passed by the General Assembly and signed by the governor.
  • Constitution of Virginia
    Defines and limits the powers of state government and the basic rights of the citizens of the Commonwealth. It is supreme over Virginia's laws and acts of government, though it may be superseded by the United States Constitution and U.S. federal law.
  • Virginia Administrative Code
    The Virginia Administrative Code contains the permanent regulations for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Regulations have the force of law and are written and administered by state agencies as authorized by the General Assembly. The Virginia Administrative Code online is updated daily.
  • Virginia Law Portal
    A public website that makes the laws of Virginia easier to search, navigate and find. The Portal is the online home of the Constitution of Virginia, Code of Virginia, Uncodified Acts of Assembly, Regulations of Virginia, Charters and Authorities of Virginia Localities, and Compacts of Virginia.   • Virginia Register of Regulations
    The Virginia Register of Regulations is Virginia’s official state publication of regulations. All regulations must be filed with the Registrar of Regulations to become law. The register provides a snapshot of all regulatory activity happening in Virginia and also includes general notices of state agency activity.
  • Virginia Regulatory Town Hall
    Information about proposed changes to Virginia's regulations. It also provides a meetings calendar, board minutes and allows the public to voice their opinion through online comment forums.
  • Virginia Rules
    An educational program designed to help instructors, parents and students understand the laws that apply to Virginia teens in their everyday lives. Provided by the Virginia Office of the Attorney General.
