What You Need

A Fairfax County Library card number and password are all that are needed to access our free eBooks and eAudiobooks through services such as OverDrive, RBdigital and databases.

If you are registering online for the first time, most though not all databases will be available to "PACREG" cards.

Watch this video that a FCPS teacher put together for her students on how to register for the library's RBDigital Unlimited audiobooks. It will also allow you to access the digital magazines, too!

Overdrive: IndieAuthors Unlimited, Popular eBooks, Popular eAudiobooks

OverDrive provides the largest number of eBooks and eAudiobooks and includes popular fiction and non-fiction titles for all ages.

OverDrive eBooks and eAudiobooks are available for 21 days at a time and are automatically returned at the end of the lending period. Customers can have up to 10 eBook or eAudiobooks checked out at one time. There are no late fees.

Titles may be read or listened to on a computer or on a portable device. This list indicates which set of instructions will work for your specific device:

Mobile devices use the RBdigital app to access magazines, eAudiobooks and eBooks as well as to download them for offline use.

PCs, Macs and laptops use an internet browser to access magazines, eAudiobooks and eBooks.

One-Time Setup for All Users: Create RBdigital Account

  • Open from a computer or mobile device.

  • First time users must create an account. Select Register and enter the requested information and create and confirm a password. Your account can be used to access both books and magazines.
  •  Follow the instructions for using RBDigital on a Computer or a Mobile Device.

Note: Customers who had an account with Zinio will also need to create a new account. The library strongly recommends using the same user ID and password currently in use.
