- AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Service
Provides in-person and virtual tax assistance to anyone free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low to moderate income. Program is cosponsored by the IRS.
- NOTE: AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program services are generally available from late January/early February through April 15 of each year. During that time, you can enter your zip code to find a Tax-Aide location near you.

- MilTax: Tax Services for the Military
Free tax services for active military, veterans and their families. Services include tax preparation and e-filing software, and one-on-one help from military tax experts. Provided by Military OneSource and the Department of Defense.
- NOTE: MilTax e-filing software is available mid-January until Oct. 15.
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
VITA offers free income tax preparation and filing services to families and individuals who earned $64,000 or less in 2023. IRS-certified volunteers will ensure you receive the maximum tax refund and help determine if you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Organized by Fairfax County Department of Family Services.
