MLIS Students
The Fairfax County Public Library is often able to provide practicum opportunities for students pursuing their Masters In Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree.
To determine if we can match you with an opportunity, we will need to know your schedule including start and end dates, requirements from your school, how many hours per week you will work, and what area of Fairfax County you prefer to work in.
Interns will get a broad range of experience working in a public library. If possible, we try to accommodate specific interests such as youth services, adult services, collection and cataloging, reference, etc., so you may also include this information.
Interns/practicum students are not paid and there is no guarantee of future employment. If you are interested, contact, Erin.Chernisky@fairfaxcounty.gov or 703-324-8332
