  • Book Group Discussion Kits
    Ten books in a bag, accompanied by questions for book group discussion.
  • Educator Cards — No Fee, Annual Expiration
    Educator cards can be issued to a preschool through post-secondary public or private school teacher or homeschool parent or guardian within Fairfax County or the City of Fairfax. Educator cards expire annually on June 30th, and are removed 1 year after the expiration date if not renewed.
  • LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com for Libraries)
    With Lynda.com for Libraries Fairfax County Public Library card holders now have access to thousands of online courses geared toward business, technology and creative fields. Lynda is also available through a mobile app. To access, be sure to select the Organization tab and then input fairfaxcounty.gov as the WebPortal
  • Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs)
    View the Virginia Standards of Learning in English, mathematics, science, history, social science and more. See sample questions from previous years' tests. Read about the Virginia SOLs and Common Core State Standards.

Class Resources for Every Student

  • Library Equity Access Pass (LEAP)
    All students (Pre-K-12) in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) have LEAP accounts at FCPL. These public library virtual accounts allow students to check out up to three items at a time for six weeks each (no renewals).
  • Reading Challenges for Youth and Adults
    Fairfax County Public Library hosts reading challenges for all ages at various times throughout the year. Here you will find information on:
    • Summer Reading Adventure
    • Winter Reading Challenge
    • Beanstack accounts for challenges
    • Other reading challenges hosted by Fairfax County Public Library
