Kids Events and Resources

Students across Fairfax County celebrated Immigrant Heritage Month by participating in our art contest! We invited youth to draw inspiration from their families or their communities to portray the colorful, diverse county we share. Students chose one of the following prompts for their art: 

  • We all belong in Fairfax County.
  • This is my family portrait.
  • This is where I am from. 
  • We celebrate the contributions of our immigrant community members. 

Artwork was accepted in any format but needed to be scanned or photographed and submitted via our online form. Three winners will be selected per category: kindergarten-2nd grade, 3rd-6th grade and 7th-12th grade. Each winner will receive a special prize and have their art displayed at the Fairfax County Government Center, the PARC at Tysons, and the George Mason Regional Library.
