3D Printing

Getting Started with 3D Printing

Do you have a design you’d like to print on a 3D printer? If so, Fairfax County Public Library can help. With our new program, we can print your design for free on our 3D printers.

  1. Read and digitally sign the Terms of Use and Agreement. The form will allow you to:
    • Select the library where you want to pick up your printed design (during open hours). Options include:
      • Kingstowne Library
      • Oakton Library
      • Pohick Regional Library (temporarily offline)
      • Reston Regional Library
      • Sherwood Regional Library
      • Thomas Jefferson Library
      • Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library
      • Woodrow Wilson Library.
    • Upload your design (file upload is part of the Agreement with Terms of Use form). Files—smaller than 25 MB—must be in .STL, .THING, or .OBJ format.
  2. Please allow 7–10 days for your design to be completed.
  3. Look for an email saying that your printed design is ready.

3d printing now available at FCPL.
