Usage tips and troubleshooting options for Fairfax County Public Library VTC setups in public meeting rooms.

Troubleshooting

While in-the-moment technical support cannot be provided/guaranteed, here are some tips when using VTC.

Equipment Use

  •  Be careful with the drawers. Avoid shutting them on any of the wires/cables.
  •  Do not move the TV.
  •  Do not touch equipment behind the TV, which is covered by a warranty.

Broken or Missing Parts

  •  Let Information Desk staff know of any hardware issues or missing components.


 

While in-the-moment technical support cannot be provided/guaranteed, here are some tips when using VTC.

Frequent Questions

  • USB-C - 3.0 architecture may not work with all devices. 
  • Tap Panel frozen? Staff can reboot the system.
  • Does the TV screen show an error of “Check Device Power”? 
    • Tap the Tap Panel to wake it up.
  • Make the television (VTC screen) fill the screen: Select Spotlight on the Tap panel – choose MTR-LIBxx
  • Sound is playing from TV or Laptop and not the Logitech Speakers. 
    • HDMI connection will always use TV speakers.  
    • Swytch cable requires you to select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. Refer to Connecting to VTC tab.
  • Sound echoes in the room? If there is more than one laptop in the room, make sure the microphone & speakers are muted / turned off on the one that is not connected to the VTC.
  • Do not use Teams from the Tap Panel and the Swytch cable at the same time – the Tap Panel can freeze.
  • Did your Microsoft icons in Outlook/Word/Excel disappear after plugging in the Swytch cable? 
    • Close all Microsoft products. Plug in the Swytch cable, then open your application.
