Video Teleconferencing (VTC)

Usage tips and troubleshooting options for Fairfax County Public Library VTC setups in public meeting rooms.

VTC Setup

 

1. Flat Screen Television

  • 85-inch Flat screen television 
  • Logitech Rally Plus - camera, microphones, and speakers
  • Displays the room name in upper left. Use this to invite device to meet.
 
 
 


 

2. Logitech Tap Panel

  • For joining Microsoft Teams meetings, phone calls, etc.
  • Allows user to join prearranged meetings or use the Meet Now feature.
  • Displays the room name in upper right. Use this to invite device to meet.

 

 

3. Logitech Swytch Videoconferencing Solution

  • USB 3.0 or higher Type A or Type C port
  • Two connectors to use for connecting personal devices to videoconferencing
  • Can use with Zoom and Teams (not needed for Teams if already using Tap Panel for meeting)
  • Download Display Link Drivers to use the Swytch cable for Windows/Mac on to your computer: 

 

4. Remotes       

  • 1 TV Remote
    • Use to power on the TV and select the Teams menu option
  • 1 Logitech Remote
    • Logitech Remote can be used to control Video Conferencing sound volume and camera. Camera can be directed to a location, zoomed in or out, and preset.

5. HDMI Cable

  • 20ft
  • HDMI cables connect to TV Speakers, rather than Logitech Speakers. Volume and sound quality will be lower.
  • HDMI cables will not connect to the Camera
  • After connecting the HDMI cable, use the TV Remote to select PC

6. Microphones

  • The Logitech® Rally Mic Pod uses three omnidirectional microphones to capture speech within a 15-foot range, to easily pick up speech from the person at the far end of the room.
  • The Mic-Pod can be connected to the Mic Pod Hub in the filing cabinet drawer.
  • They can be connected sequentially to pick up audience participation in a straight line or by using the Mic Pod Hub.
