Video Teleconferencing (VTC)

Usage tips and troubleshooting options for Fairfax County Public Library VTC setups in public meeting rooms.

Connect to VTC - Projection Mode

Connecting to the VTC with Swytch cable on a Windows or Mac laptop:

  • Share content from a laptop via purple Swytch cable (USB-C or USB-A).
  • Sharing audio and visual content is more responsive when using a wired connection.

Requires:

Connect your device

  1. Take out the Logitech Swytch cable and plug it into your device.
  2. On your device, pull up your video or other content.

Share Content

  1. Use the (skinny) TV remote to power on the TV.
  2. Use the TV remote and hit the Home button.
  3. Use the circular pad to select Teams on the TV to share content.

Audio

  1. On your device, go to Settings > System > Sound.
  2. Select Output > Echo Cancelling Speakerphone.
  3. Use the Logitech remote (square) to control the volume.
  4.  Play your video from your device.

Connecting to VTC with a Chromebook:

  1. At the bottom right, select the time.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under Device, select Display.
  4. Select Samsung. This option will appear when your monitor is connected.
  5. Toggle the "Mirror built-in display" option to project the Chromebook screen to the TV screen.
  6. Also Under Device, select Audio.
  7. Select Logitech Rally. This option will send the Chromebook audio to the speakers.

If this does not appear, try unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable or rebooting the Chromebook.

After connecting the HDMI cable, use the TV Remote to select PC.

This cable may be used during extended hours reservations and does not require signing this letter of agreement. It does not connect to the VTC equipment and will not connect to the camera for hybrid meetings.
