Deposit Site Collections

  • What is a deposit site collection and who is eligible?

Free rotating collections of Fairfax County Public Library books are supplied to facilities and organizations in Fairfax County serving individuals with disabilities or who are unable to visit a local library. Deposit site collections may range from several dozen to more than one hundred titles. Most of our deposit sites prefer books in large print.

  • How do I register?

Request an application by e-mail, by phone at 703-324-8380 or TTY 703-324-8365, or fill out our online application.

  • How does the program work?

We will open a library account with the Access Services branch for your facility and set up a mutually agreeable delivery schedule. Books will be rotated every three months. Our reader advisory staff will work with you to create a profile of preferred book topics and will select the books for your collection.

Deposit site materials can be sent and returned by U.S. mail at no charge to you, or you may pick up and return your deposit materials at the nearest branch of the Fairfax County Public Library. If neither mail delivery nor library pick up is possible for you, we may be able to arrange an alternative delivery method.

  • How do I get more information?
