Leo's Lunch Box Written by Raphael G. Warnock Illustrated by TeMika Grooms

This book was inspired from the boy in the Bible who had five loaves of bread and two fish and how it miraculously fed many. It parallels Leo's lunch box as it magically multiplied its contents that fed himself and his classmates.

This book started with Leo and his mom in the kitchen preparing his lunch. Leo was not so excited about it because he was having baloney sandwiches for the fourth time in a row in the same week. His classmates were noticing and teasing him about it.

But when his mother got a job, she bought him a lunch box. She told him not to open it until lunchtime. When lunchtime came, he saw slices of pizza in which he shared with his friend Andy, who had no lunch. Then Leo shared another slice with another friend. The same thing happened with the orange: Once he shared it with someone, it multiplied to make to make enough to share with others. And the same with his juice -- he poured himself some from his thermos and more came out from it for his classmates. His classmates saw what was happening and everyone began to share what they had with others.

This book just got me into thinking about sharing and seeing and helping others in your part of your world--and maybe beyond our part of the world.
