This book, written by the famous talk show host Dr. Ruth Westheimer, gives us 100 ways to beat loneliness, and live a happier and more meaningful life despite the reality of diminishing social life. The author draws from her life experience and suggest ways to live that would make people like to be around you. She introduces the concept of loneliness in life by telling her own story-- how she grew up in an orphanage and lived with 150 people, yet she felt alone.
I do not agree with all the suggestions, but I do appreciate one outstanding suggestion for introverts like me: embracing your inner turtle. I like her analogy of how turtles must come out of their shell to survive, like when they need to hunt for food or meet fellow turtles.
