Knitting for Charity

September 16-November 15, 2024

Last year with your help we were able to collect more than 800 knitted items. Your generosity has encouraged us to make this an annual drive. We invite you to knit or crochet a hat to provide warmth and comfort to those genuinely in need.

How can you help? This winter season, keep adults warm and cozy by knitting a hat.

Pick up yarn while supplies last. Beginning September 16, a limited quantity of yarn will be available at the following library branches:

Regional: Centreville, Chantilly, City of Fairfax, George Mason, Pohick, Tysons-Pimmit, Sherwood.

Community: Burke Centre, Dolley Madison, Great Falls, Herndon Fortnightly, Kings Park, Kingstowne, Oakton, Richard Byrd, Thomas Jefferson.

Knitted hats will be donated to Shelter House, a community-based, non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention, safe housing and supportive services to homeless families and victims of domestic violence in our community.

This event is cosponsored by the Fairfax Library Foundation.
