On the Brink of Everything is about the journey of the author, whom we could learn from and relate to as we age. No matter where you are on your own journey, this book encourages you to look inward at every stage through the ups and downs of life. It invites you to drop the illusions and just see things for what they really are. It invites you to drop the illusions and just see things for what they really are. It is not hard to read but it is deep as it urges its readers to look within.
I picked and chose what I could learn from this book. The main thing I learned was that aging is not the end of the journey but part of the journey of life. As the author puts it, there are no "short cuts," and -- sorry, Cher -- we cannot turn back time, either, so we might as well make peace with the past, and face life today and beyond with our true self.
