Edie said they were done with crime--but crime wasn't done with Edie. After being unexpected released from prison after eight years behind bars, Edie is shocked when their former best friend and long-time crush calls them back for one last job. One final heist, against a trillionaire who owns everyone and everything. One big job, and Edie and their family will never have to worry about money ever again. Simple, right?
This was my favorite read of January. It's fun, it's slick, and it's the sci-fi heist novel I never knew I needed!
I'm not going to say it cured all my problems, but I'm not not going to say it, if you know what I mean.
I loved the Hawaiian ancestry and representation. I loved the friends-to-enemies-to-allies-to-lovers romance that was central to the story. I loved each and every one of the supporting cast. I loved the space station itself and the world Yamamoto built.
If you enjoyed Ocean's 8, you'll like Hammajang Luck.
