Overview

Hands-on History kits are a collection of primary source replicas such as  photographs, journals, military records, replica money and games from the time period of the kits. Kits include lesson plans and activities.

Circulation Policy

  • Kits may be borrowed for 6 weeks. They are renewable if no one is waiting in the holds queue.
  • Kits may be placed on hold and can be picked up at any branch.
  • All items are to be returned with the kit

American Revolution: educational outreach kit

The kit is intended for use by educators for students grades 4 through high school.

Civil War in Fairfax County: Sesquicentennial commemoration kit

photo of kit contentsIntended to introduce young people to the impact that the Civil War had on Fairfax County, the Sesquicentennial commemoration kit is for use by teachers and educators for students grades 4 through high school. Primary sources such as photographs, journals, military records, diary entries, and song lyrics are provided as well as several hands-on activities.
