What is Beanstack?

Beanstack is an easy way to keep track of all the books you read. When you create a Beanstack account for yourself or your family, you’re instantly connected to our reading programs, so you’ll get credit for every minute, every page and every activity. When our programs end, you keep your account, and your reading history—it’s always free, and you can keep right on logging your leisure reading. When the next library program comes around, no need to re-register—just click on it, and you’re in.

How do I log my reading or activities?

Log your reading and activities by signing into your Beanstack account and clicking on the badges in the challenge for which you are registered. You can also use the Beanstack mobile app to log your reading and activities.

May I add more than one reader to my account?

Yes! You can set up as many profiles as you like, for readers of any age. Only enter information for the required fields. (Library card information is not required. However, if you wish to add one for every reader, it must be a unique library card account for each person.) Watch a short tutorial: Registering a Family.

How will I know if I have earned any incentives for completing a challenge?

Finishers will receive a completion badge. Make sure to turn on email notifications and you will also receive an email letting you know you have earned prizes.

Do I create a new account each time a new program/challenge begins at my library?

No. With Beanstack, you keep your account and then enroll or sign up for reading programs as they become available.

How do I cancel my account?

Click on the gear in the upper right corner on your dashboard page. Choose “Edit Account.” Your account information will open. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select “Delete Account.”

You will be asked to acknowledge that you understand this is an irreversible action, resulting in the loss of all data for the main account holder and any readers. Click on “Permanently Delete My Account.”

Do I need a library card to create an account in Beanstack?

No, a library card is not required when registering for an account in Beanstack. The required fields to create an account are: first name, last name, email address, password, primary library, age, grade level and zip code.

I have other questions. How do I get in touch?

Send an email to LibLibraryEvents@fairfaxcounty.gov.
