Registering an Account With Beanstack

If you are a parent/caregiver registering your family:

  1. Go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org.
  2. Choose Register an Individual or Family.
  3. Click on No when asked if you have previously used Beanstack with Fairfax County Public Library.
  4. Select I am an adult registering a child when asked who you would like to register.
  5. Complete all the required fields. Keep track of your username and password.
  6. Depending on the age, you and your children will be automatically pre-registered or registered for any reading challenges available for preschool, school-age, teens or adults.
  7. Add more children, if needed.
  8. You will be asked if you would like to register. If you say Yes complete the required fields and you will be pre-registered or registered for the adult winter reading challenge.
  9. You will be asked if you wish to register other adults. If you say Yes, complete the required fields and they will be pre-registered or registered for the adult winter reading challenge.
  10. Once you are registered, you will be taken to a Reader Dashboard page. This is where you and your family will log minutes read, complete activities and track the badges earned.

If you are registering yourself:

  1. Go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org.
  2. Choose Register an Individual or Family.
  3. Click on No when it asks if you have previously used Beanstack with Fairfax County Public Library.
  4. Select I am registering myself.
  5. Complete all the required fields. Keep track of your username and password.
  6. You will be automatically pre-registered or registered for any reading challenges available for your age group.
  7. You will be asked if you wish to register another adult or any children. If you say Yes, complete the required fields to be pre-registered or registered for the age-appropriate winter reading challenge.
  8. Once you are registered, you will be taken to a Reader Dashboard page. This is where you will log your minutes read and activities and track the badges earned.

Notes:

  • It is possible to access and use Beanstack in other languages. Scroll down to the bottom of any screen and click Select Language.
  • Keep track of your username and password. You can use this information any time you are participating in Beanstack reading challenges.
