Challenge yourself to read beyond what you can imagine! Read books by Hispanic authors. Stretch your reading skills and explore new genres, or specific types of books. Expanding what you read can strengthen your reading comprehension and spark your imagination! Read new books and complete activities to earn Bingo!

  1. Go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org and register for the Hispanic Heritage Genre Bingo Challenge.
  2. Earn THREE virtual badges in a row, column or diagonal by reading or listening to books and completing activities.

  • PBS Kids has collected lots of videos and activities to help families celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.

  • Watch this video to learn about history and celebrations for Hispanic Heritage month.

  • PBS Kids has this video to help kids learn about Hispanic Heritage month.

  • Sesame Street produced a video to help you learn about the countries where Spanish is spoken.

  • Try some of these crafts to learn about countries where Spanish is spoken. 

  • Where Are You From is a beautifully illustrated picture book that focuses on a young girl learning about her family. 

  • Make paper flowers like they do in Mexico! 

  • Enjoy a performace of Just a Minute by Yuyi Morales about a grandma and a trickster. 

  • Cook a dish with your family from a Latin American country. 
  • Use this recipe to make clay flowers or other figures, as they do in Ecuador.​​​​​​​
